Vermont Cannabis Guide

Visiting Vermont? Here's a simple guide to what adults 21+ should know before purchasing or consuming cannabis

For Your Knowledge.

What You Need to Know.

Cannabis is legal in Vermont for adults 21 and older. You can purchase from licensed retailers, but there are still rules around possession, public consumption, driving, and travel.

Have a Medical Card?

Vermont only accepts Vermont medical cards, even if you have a medical card from another state, it will not be accepted.

Private Property Consumption? Check With Your Host!

Check with your Airbnb host or property owner before consuming if you are renting. Airbnb hosts and landlords can prohibit cannabis use on their property - even if you are renting!

21+ Only

You must be 21 or older with a valid government-issued ID. A paper ID is not considered a legal ID. Please have a valid ID before entering your chosen retailer.

No Public Consumption

Cannabis consumption is not legal in public spaces, which include sidewalks and parks. It is illegal to drive while under the influence of cannabis.
